SURRENDER40 IS SAD TO ANNOUNCE THE CANCELLATION OF THIS SATURDAY'S OCTOBER 1ST MISSION TO "FEED THE NEED"

Surrender40 Ministries regrets to announce the cancellation of our October 1st mission to "FEED THE NEED" due to lack of financial support and falling almost $314 short of our goal.

Friends and family of Surrender40 Ministries, and anyone who has EVER had a word of praise for what we do, PRAY FOR US, PLEASE.

As far as the donations go, I wake up at 6 AM EVERY morning and ask God to provide for His people....THROUGH.......His people. I am not really sure what happened this week with donations, but for anyone that knows Trachena & I, also knows that we will NEVER QUIT!

I will never judge people that say they will do things that they do not end up doing, because LORD only knows I have done that a few thousand times in my life, as we all have, however, your donations are VITAL, absolutely VITAL for us to survive and for this ministry to continue. We do not know what else to really do other than to cancel, because we just cannot afford to lay out anymore of our money.......call us fools but we are over $14,000 in debt over Surrender40 Ministries and Pink Love Ministries. Trachena has charged EVERYTHING on her credit cards so that God's people would feel loved, fed, clothed and written to, but as for now, we are tapped out! God knows I am working on a borrowed laptop just to get this message out to you, because ours died over a month ago! A great friend an ministry partner called me yesterday to say that him and his wife were BLESSED by God and that they are sending us a check for a new laptop. WE LOVE YOU GUYS for that, and Trachena and I are both believing that someone is going to step up big really soon and just BLESS this ministry beyond belief and provide ALL the food for a weekend much like the "AWESOME" Soriano family has done more then once for Surrender40 Ministries, we JUST FLAT OUT BELIEVE THAT!

SURRENDER40'S COMPUTER IS DEAD, WE NEED HELP!

The evil one will never stop trying to silence God's people! The computer that I use to design, tweet, Facebook, administrate, (except financial material), is now dead and we are in desperate need of another laptop. The cost for this new machine would only be $399.00, NO TAX as we are a 501 (c) (3) ministry. We CANNOT operate without a computer. It seems that satan and his friends (if you could call them that), will NEVER stop trying to shut down Surrender40 Ministries. We are not going to make a whole long story about this. We are asking ONE OR TWO friends and partners of this ministry to step up and help us replace the Surrender40 Ministry laptop. I am not looking at a screaming gamer machine with 872 GB of ram and a Blu ray disc. I have found a very simple replacement machine at BJ's and have stated the actual cost above. It is a small Acer with 2 GB of ram and has everything we need to get up and running again. This is being typed on a borrowed machine, by the way, it is not the ministries, it is a personal computer. Will someone please help us out and be instantly acknowledged (if you like) as well as receipted by a 501 (c) (3) IRS approved NOT FOR PROFIT ministry? HOW MANY OTHER WAYS CAN WE ASK OTHER THAN STRAIGHT FORWARD?

Because of the nature of what I am telling you all and asking you, I sit here in tears asking Jesus why someone who JUST wants to serve God is being made to suffer so much. WE were served with foreclosure papers last weekend since we have given and used MOST of our own personal funds and money to fund Surrender40 since it's beginning in 2008, and than Trachena burned herself by falling asleep on a heating pad that was supposed to do an auto shut off. She spent almost 2 days in the hospital being treated by burn experts that did help her a great deal. Anyway, we are suffering. My Mom did lend us some money for some personal stuff but we are forbidden by law to use ANY of that money for anything but what she loaned it to us for and that was to pay bills. WE cannot let the ministry suffer and that is why we are asking you for some help. WE need, and I know it sounds funny, exactly $499 to prepare for the holiday missions that are coming up. I do NOT know if you are in a position to help us and you have BLESSED so much before. If you are able to do this it would MEAN THE WORLD TO SURRENDER40 MINISTRIES!. I am in tears because I have never had to do things like this before. I have had 6 figure jobs before and have run Fortune 500 companies, but when it comes to God's work, it is a whole different story. PayPal takes so much in fees and when people give us $100, eBay and PayPal, even though we are a 501 (c) (3) company, they KILL us with fees. SO to actually get $100, people would have to either gift it or send about $124 for us to receive $100.
Guys, I am so sorry about this request and believe me when I tell you that I got on my face before the Lord when I needed help and HE gave me the answer of using Facebook!!

SURRENDER40 GETTING READY TO RETURN TO THE STREETS OF MIAMI AS PASTOR STEVE GIVES GOD ALL THE GLORY FOR HIS RECOVERY

When the enemy attacks a ministry and tries to ensure that the work of God's Kingdom is destroyed, it does nothing more than give God another opportunity to overcome evil and claim another victory in The NAME above all names, The NAME of Jesus. So, what the devil meant for evil God will ALWAYS turn into good and that is exactly what has happened here. By the GRACE and MERCY of God, Pastor Steve has fully recovered from his stroke and Surrender40 Ministries will now begin the tedious process of preparing for our next mission to "FEED THE NEED"!

Within the next week or two we will announce the date of our next mission to Hit the Streets. Keep in mind PLEASE that we are starting from ZERO, and we must again begin the process of asking for donations and collecting enough money to buy the food, water and supplies to feed well over 200 people. We will also ask people to donate hygiene products like soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and whatever else you can think of that would make YOUR life on the streets more tolerable if God changed your circumstance and that is where you found yourself. Please remember that anyone of you that maybe reading this is just one "THOUGHT" from being homeless, lest you not forget the first chapter of Job. Remember, satan did not ask for Job, God offered him up to show the devil Job's love for God and his level of righteousness. So just know that any one of our lives can change in the BLINK of an eye!

SURRENDER40 MINISTRIES REACHES A HUGE MILESTONE-THANK YOU JESUS FOR ALLOWING US TO SERVE OVER 7,000 MEALS TO THE PEOPLE OF MIAMI!

By the Grace & Mercy of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, this past weekend we reached a milestone that could have ONLY come through the POWER, MIGHT, AND LOVE of The Son of The Living God, Jesus Christ. There is no way that on our own, or through our very BEST efforts that we could have reached or surpassed the number of "LOVE BAGS" served at 7,000.

There are many people out there are very kind and very giving and they ride around downtown or set up on street corners and feed people and give them clothing and sometimes a couple of dollars for a meal or whatever they use it for, however, Surrender40 Ministries is very different and there is ONLY ONE explanation for that difference. What makes our ministry so unique and so different is the very same thing that made the greatest men and women of The Bible so unique and different, and that is the word OBEDIENCE! The Bible explains that obedience is GREATER than sacrifice and it is so true.

Think about the obedience of King David when God instructed NOT to kill King Saul, or Queen Esther, when God placed it in her heart to tell Mordecai to tell the people to fast for three days and and the huge amount of courage it took when she told her uncle what her plans were for the Jewish people and the AWESOME amount of courage it took to tell him that THIS IS WHAT IS TO BE DONE, and......."If I perish, I perish" Wow, I get goosebumps every time I quote that scripture from the Bible!

Think about that for a second, I am going to do whatever God says, and "IF I PERISH, I PERISH"

There have been many, many weekends that mission trips were scheduled and we did NOT have enough money in the Surrender40 Ministries account to buy a pair of shoe laces, let alone food to feed over 220 people, yet my wife Trachena, through her "TOTAL FAITH AND OBEDIENCE" charged the food on her credit cards, including supplies, gas, and whatever else was needed to make sure that 220 people had an opportunity and the blessing to have a meal that day!

I AM AMAZED BY MY WIFE'S FAITH, AS WELL AS HER OBEDIENCE TO HIS STILL SMALL VOICE" She is an inspiration to me every day and will ALWAYS BE MY HERO! She gives until it hurts, she gives beyond her natural means, because we serve a SUPERNATURAL GOD! My wife Trachena is in constant pain from her knee surgery and her foot injury, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, yet she PUSHES beyond that to give "UNSELFISHLY" to others because she is obedient to the voice she heard on Christmas Eve, 2008 at Calvary Chapel Kendall that told her to "FEED MY SHEEP"

I don't mind telling you that more than once I have found my wife laying prostrate on the floor before God after a mission because she is in so much physical pain and torment, and REFUSES to come to me to complain about it!

Her response is ALWAYS the same, she says that NOTHING COULD EVEN COME CLOSE TO HAVING THREE SPIKES HAMMERED THROUGH YOUR WRISTS AND FEET AND THAN BEING HUNG ON A TREE TO DIE!

I only pray that someday God blesses me with a tenth of the strength and love for others that she has, because she is incredible.

So, in closing, I would like to congratulate the entire ministry team of Surrender40 Ministries for reaching that AMAZING milestone, and to once again thank my awesome wife Trachena for being the AMAZING inspiration that she has ALWAYS been for me. Thank you Jesus for allowing us the HONOR and privilege of serving your people on Saturday, May 21, 2011. We were BLESSED to have so many people help us and offer their hearts to The Lord on this day. WE did serve over 220 meals, and hand out over 150 pairs of socks that were lovingly donated by Theresa Tese and her ministry team of Comfort Socks, and they can be reached at www.comfortsocksonline.org Many people were also blessed with clothing that we have accumulated through various donations and also 36 Bibles were handed out by our team of Youth Pastors, mostly by Arny Parsons and Julian, Vivian's awesome son. We would also like to thank Karly and her team from CCK as well as Miguel Vargas who handled ALL the security for the ministry team. Thank you everyone for your time, your love and your dedication to The Word of God which says, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, and I was a stranger and you invited me in"

What does God SEE when He looks at YOU?

We pray that this devotional finds you healthy, blessed and busy at work for the Kingdom of God!

If you are none of the above, maybe this devotional will help get you to ALL of those precious places.

So, let's focus on the question, what DOES God see when He looks at you? There are ONLY TWO (2) possible answers, please know this to be the truth, ONLY TWO

If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and savior, when God looks at you, He sees His creation, and He loves you because he created you and God is LOVE! BUT......He also sees you as an UNSAVED sinner, that will be separated from him for eternity when you take your last breath on this Earth.
The second scenario, and the most truthful and heartwarming answer is; if you HAVE accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, when God looks at you he sees what? A Christian? A sinner saved by Grace? A saved soul? “YES” to all of the above, but what He actually sees is HIS SON....JESUS!

How is that, you ask? How does God look at me and see his Son? Well, now we will show you through scripture and prove to you exactly why this is the TRUTH, beyond a shadow of a doubt! In 2 Corinthians 5:21, the Bible tells us one very important fact that occurred on the cross at Calvary.

But first, lets go back to that day and FEEL the moment, and study the deepest part of what it means. Remember during the 9^th hour of the Crucifixion, (Matthew 27:45) after three hours of darkness had prevailed over the cross, and Jesus cried out these words, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” The reason that Jesus asked that question was because for the FIRST and LAST time in the history of all creation, the Holy Trinity was separated. Separated by what? Separated by SIN!

Every sin that had ever taken place, and that would take place from the 15 Billion or so people that have ever lived, and the billions of more that will live were hurled into the broken, bloodied body of our savior, the Son of The Living God. He was WITHOUT SIN, A PERFECT SACRIFICE, THE LAMB OF GOD. You cannot ever begin to imagine that pain and suffering. Now a Holy and Righteous God HAD TO TURN HIS FACE AWAY! He could not look, they were separated for those moments in time.

So, how do we tie this all back in to how God looks at you. Follow me now and go back to 2 Corinthians 5:21, and read along with me “HE BECAME SIN, WHO KNEW NO SIN, SO THAT WE MAY BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD”. Stay with me here..........at the moment that all the sin of the world, yours, mine, OURS, was transferred to His Son, THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD was transferred to you and me. The price for sin, the debt we COULD NOT pay, the bridge that could NEVER be crossed was paid for with the Blood of The Lamb..........SO...when God looks at the SAVED human being, HE SEES HIS SON! It was an even exchange for a very uneven debt! We are here today to tell you that ALL God sees when He looks at you is the LOVE & RIGHTEOUSNESS of Jesus.

If by some chance, you fall into category 1, and still do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, please say these words and mean them in your heart,

"Heavenly Father, have mercy on me, a sinner. I believe in you and that your word is true. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God and that HE died on the cross so that I may now have forgiveness for my sins and eternal life. I know that without you in my heart my life is meaningless.

I believe in my heart that you, Lord God, raised Him from the dead. Please Jesus forgive me, for every sin I have ever committed or done in my heart, please Lord Jesus forgive me and come into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior today. I need you to be my Father and my friend.

I give you my life and ask you to take full control from this moment on; I pray this in the name of Jesus."

If you prayed that prayer open and honestly the God now sees HIS SON when He looks at you. How could you possibly want ANYTHING OTHER THEN THAT IN YOUR LIFE? Today, you are set free and will walk on streets of Gold with Jesus and spend eternity with a Holy and Righteous God, who can ONLY look at you as His Son or Daughter!

Pastor David Wilkerson Killed in TX Car Crash

WE HAVE SUFFERED A GREAT LOSS TODAY-AND HEAVEN HAS AN AWESOME NEW PREACHER-REJOICE, PASTOR DAVID IS HOME WITH THE LORD!

Rev. David Wilkerson, founding pastor of Times Square Church in New York City and author of the well-known book The Cross and the Switchblade, was killed Wednesday in a car accident, according to a source close to CBN News. He was 79.

Wilkerson was driving east on U.S. 175 and moved into the opposite lane where a tractor trailer was driving westbound. The truck driver saw the car and tried to move out of the way, but still collided with the car head on, according to Public Safety Trooper Eric Long.

Wilkerson's wife Gwen was also involved in the crash and rushed to the hospital, along with the other driver.

Wilkerson posted a blog dated April 27 -- the day of his death. In the post, titled "When All Means Fail," he encouraged those facing difficulty to "hold fast" and stand strong in faith.

"To those going through the valley and shadow of death, hear this word: Weeping will last through some dark, awful nights, and in that darkness you will soon hear the Father whisper, "I am with you,'" Wilkerson wrote. "Beloved, God has never failed to act but in goodness and love. When all means fail-his love prevails. Hold fast to your faith. Stand fast in his Word. There is no other hope in this world."

Word of the accident began to spread Wednesday night on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Christians urged prayer for Mrs. Wilkerson who's in critical condition.

Wilkerson's cousin Rich confirmed the death on Twitter.

"It is confirmed my dear cousin David Wilkerson lost his life in a tragic car accident this afternoon..Prayers r needed at this time," he tweeted.

Rev. Wilkerson spent the early part of his ministry reaching out to gang members and drug addicts in New York, as told in the best-selling book The Cross and the Switchblade.

In 1971, he started World Challenge, Inc. as an umbrella for his crusades, conferences, evangelism and other ministry. Times Square Church was founded under the group in 1987.

The church is now led by Pastor Carter Conlon and has more than 8,000 members.

Wilkerson also founded Teen Challenge, and Christian outreach program for troubled young people.

"Please remember the Wilkerson family in your prayers as our founder, Rev. David Wilkerson, went to be with the Lord this evening," Teen Challenge told Twitter followers.

He is survived by his wife, four children and 11 grandchildren.

Meet Surrender40 Ministries "NEWEST" Youth Leader-Arny Parsons

It's NOT very often that you run into 12 year old that isn't GLUED to an X-Box 360 or has his fingers going a mile a minute texting his or her friends about the latest gossip going on in school or on some UNGODLY TV show. It isn't very common to have some friends call up a young man of 12 and invite him to hunt for Easter eggs, and he responds that he is sorry, but he has committed to serving God that day. It is not an everyday occurrence to be walking down the streets of Miami and witness what is taking place in the picture above, a 12 year old young man, SOLD OUT AND ON FIRE FOR JESUS, laying hands on a homeless man and praying for his needs.

WELL....SEEING IS BELIEVING, AND WE SAW THE REAL DEAL TODAY!

Surrender40 Ministries is honored and very pleased to announce our NEWEST "Youth Leader", Arny Parsons. Arny is the son of a very blessed woman named Maria Rodriguez, and WE are blessed that she has given our ministry her blessings to officially become a part of our Youth Ministry. Arny will be in charge of handing out the Bibles that our ministry blesses EVERY person that wants one. He will be leading a team that usually consists of Jonathon and Caesar and any other youth that volunteer when we go out to "FEED THE NEED" in downtown Miami. From the very first time that we went out on a mission with Arny, we knew that he had a very special anointing upon his life and that he HAS been called to be a "GREAT" Man of God! Arny helped us feed 220 people, and give out hundreds of Bibles and Daily Breads, as well as pass out hygiene products and clothing donated by Mary and her daughter.

We want to add this disclaimer, so that nobody gets carried away with this praise and publicity......ARNY is just a kid....and that is ALL we want him to be, HOWEVER, the Bible says "Do NOT ignore the teachings of the young", and since Trachena and I believe that we are living in end times, we understand that our young men will dream dreams, and bring MANY to Christ!

In the coming days we will be doing a live interview with Arny, so that you can know the humility and hunger that this young man has for God. You will hear for yourselves what changed his life and why he is so young and ON FIRE FOR GOD! Trachena & I would be very PROUD to call him our son, and we are so grateful to Maria for her faith and trust in the work that God has blessed us with here in Miami!

In closing, please help Surrender40 Ministries to WELCOME Arny and keep him in your prayers as the enemy tries to "Line Him Up" in his cross hairs just like he will with anyone that is a THREAT to his darkness! MY (Trachena's) BFF a changed women of God "NEVER" give up on someone

My Best Friend Robin Brewer from Homestead Correctional Institution

Meet Robin from Homestead Correctional. She has been in prison going on 18 years!! This is a women of God. NEVER give up on people, with God ALL things are possible. Please pray with us and stand in faith that she is released. Lettters from Lord (Linda) brought her to me through a simple tweet asking to write an inmate or two. I volunteered. I am only allowed to see 1 inmate according the rules of FL, and God said ROBIN. Although I do write the other lady Nancy that she gave me along with every inmate that writes Pink Love Ministries, a sister organization of Surrender40 Ministries, Inc.. ITs' going over 2 years that we have been writing and us going into MAX prion to sit, eat, pray and encourage her. She is a changed women. I pray in Jesus name that she is released. And I have opened my home to her Mom , she has slept over here when she was down from Indiana. Please pray for Robin, there is allot of evil... we feel it when we go there and plead the blood of Jesus over us. I stand in faith believing one day I will do a post that Robin has received her FREEEDOM. I/we have offered her to stay in our home under the watch of the ministries if they let her out sooner to do the rest of her time. Thanks for reading, thanks for praying and know in your heart that there are some good ones in prison. I send out through Pink Love Ministries around 520 monthly devotionals to women in prison to encourage and love on them. One day I hope every women in prison gets a devotional, a word of encouragement and love, and finds Christ. Everyone deserves to know Christ and be forgiven and go to Heaven. Please pray not only for Robin but the inmates male or female that are locked up and they are being charged for something they did, but didn't, pray for the person in prison that has really changed to receive their freedom back. Pray God opens the doors for them as well as Robin. I know you will never read this Robin but this post is dedicated to you. I love you, and you will forever be in my heart. CHILDREN, ARE YOU THERE?

We love our kids to no end only to find out that they are not whom they are called to be. You raise them, you love them and they hurt you. Sometimes the hurt is in a way that is so unbearable that all you can do is reach out to God for help. You ask God to help train them in the right way to go (Proverbs 22:6) and stand on the promises that one that day they will be back. But what do you do in the meantime? We know we pray and pray and pray. We fall prostate to the Lord for help because we have surrendered them to Him and help and hope all works well. I write this devotional today from my own personal experience. I have 2 prodigal's and I am broken inside. Where do I turn other then to God? I trust one day they we each come back and make amends for the things they have done, but in the meantime that parent is left in despair, left in a puddle of tears. For this reason I personally always wanted more kids but after losing one to death and now the other two our prodigals I want to be free from my pain. There are many people out there right now reading this with kids out there and all you do is pray for their return to the cross, I am with you. But in the meantime, how do you stop the crying? How do you stop that what if's, you give them everything and it still isn't enough. You train them up in the Lord for them only to rebel and go their own way. When does the parent get the relief so needed from God? First my son Daniel whom will be 23 in July hurt me so bad I just don't know how to process it other than pray and pray more. Without God I don't know what I would do. I look at when I was his age and if I did these things ever to my Mom or Father, Lord PLEASE forgive me, even though my Mom went to be with the Lord in 2002 and we were BEST OF FRIENDS. I miss her deeply.

I am not even sure if this a devotional but it was put on my heart to share with you because many are going through the same. As God holds my tears in a many bottles, I just wish things could be different somehow. He (my son) has chosen to serve the world not God, he has chosen to live for himself and not for God or for others. Maybe some reading this have heard the words F---U to your face, but I never had, and this past week I heard it to my face several times, from the mouth of the child I birthed! Do you have any idea how MUCH pain I feel from that?

In addition, along with finding out the he is living with a girl whom without getting into details DID NOT get permission from my son to use my car. My son didn't have the authorization to do so, only the policy owner my husband and I and now I am being sued for bodily inquiry and many court dates ahead. I love my son so much, I have done everything to be a good mom, but still ended up with what I have, which is a prodigal. I am a God fearing women, so all those reading this, it isn't your fault they make their own choice.

My daughter, yet another prodigal lied and said my husband punched her in the face (which he NEVER did, nor would he ever do) and now her mom pulled out a restraining order, just because she is doesn't want to do her punishment; lose her TV, sneakers, things that mean the most to her and she lied to her mom. Her mom believed her. I know this devotional is much different than many you have read from Pink Love, but I/we need your prayers. Jesus will have the victory over them regardless on how it looks. Please stand in prayer that our kids come back home and get right with God. They are both lying about everything and not being honest with what really is going on. Sara, rather stay living with her mom (even though my husband has custody because as our Pastor said she doesn't want to pay child support. Sara goes from a believers home to a non believers home so she lives a double life and Sara chose to live for satan, and not God. I love her so much and miss her. We were recently in Idaho and she got to see snow for the first time, all her trips ever to NY, CA, Washington, Idaho and Disney we took her, we saved our $$ for years at a time sometimes to make sure we took her on trips and Daniel too when he was younger. Sara would rather stay with her mom because she has freedom, she has no rules, she runs the show and her there are rules and her Dad being a Pastor that means reading the Word of God via a devotional and Bible readings as a family at night. I just asked anyone of you if you have a word of encouragement for my husband please send it to us. We love them dearly and have done our best with them. Could we have done better, yes, we can all do better but for the most part we are God fearing parents that put our kids first. I know in my spirit Sara is coming home shortly because court is soon. We miss Sara SO much, it hurts DEEP in our bones, DEEP in our souls! But why bring her here if she doesn't want to be here?

I am asking you to pray for Sara's mom to accept Jesus Christ into her life and surrender to Him completely and not live with a man and set this type of example nor let Sara climb out of windows and come back with hickey's on her neck. We are living in the end times, children will be disobedient to there parents we know this, but please pray for both Daniel and Sara to come back home and more importantly to the cross where Jesus gave up His LIFE for their sins. We are not mad, just hurt, and all we want to do is to love them. We also ask you that if Sara nor Daniel has never truly accepted Jesus in their hearts that today would be the day since tomorrow is promised to none of us. Time just goes by, but each day we get closer to our day to go home to either be with the Lord or spend eternity without him. We post all of our devotionals that we send out to you, SO if you Daniel, or you Sara are reading this, we love you, come home and all is forgiven. Life is too short and the evil one doesn't want you to be with us. We pray right now in Jesus name for all the prodigals out that right now that they would ask God for forgiveness and come back home. God will forgive you no matter what you have done and so will we. If you don't want to, then know this, WE LOVE YOU BOTH SO MUCH, we forgive you and we miss you deeply. Please reach out to us, there is so much we would like to say. But more importantly that God loves you so much and we do too.

Almost a year ago we purchased a ministry vehicle that was large enough to hold over 220 sandwiches, 10 cases of water and 100 bibles, and many bags of clothing. We did so in faith believing that God would provide the monthly payment necessary to keep the vehicle paid for and keep the ministries credit upright. THE TEARS OF A FATHER-OUR LITTLE GIRL-OUR YOUTH LEADER--IS GONE-PRAY FOR US

How could anyone ever imagine what it must have been like for that split second, that very moment when the creator of the universe had to turn His face away from the agony that His ONLY Son was experiencing on the cross at Calvary. Knowing full well that a righteous and Holy God CANNOT look upon sin because light and dark do not mix, and because there was a moment in time and space that ALL the sin of this world, past, present and future, entered into the Son of God, this may have been the most painful moment that EVER existed. It is absolutely far beyond what any human being could ever imagine because we are just NOT capable of that type of vision or understanding, and in a big way, we should be grateful that we are not, because it had to be the MOST ugly few moments that EVER existed. What does that mean and why? Well, think of a simple and somewhat innocent sin that you and I probably commit on a daily basis, such as having a bad thought towards some other person or a jealous/envious thought. Take that simple act of jealousy or anger, and now add the following; rage, hate, lust, murder, incest, stealing, rape, cheating, lying, etc.

NOW, multiply that by the nearly 5-6 billion people that are living TODAY on this planet, multiply that exponentially by over 6,000 years (according to the Jewish Calendar) of man's existence and if it were even possible to come to that number, you would then begin to come close to the amount of PAINFUL & DEADLY SIN that ENTERED into the blameless, pure & innocent righteous Son of God at that very moment on the hill at Calvary over 2,000 years ago. That very moment, the one we just attempted to describe in somewhat indescribable detail, was the ONLY moment in ALL of existence that there was a separation between the Father and The Son. That was the moment that God TURNED his head away from His only begotten Son, because he could NOT be witness to any unrighteousness entering into His son. It is my belief that this was THE saddest moment in all of God's existence, which by the way has been, and always will be, FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER!!!!

So, where am I going with all of this? Very personally, very painfully and very recently, my 14 year old daughter Sara Dawn, who by the way has been the head of Surrender40's Youth Ministry Bible Team for the past 2 years, had been hanging out with some teenagers that have dabbled in the occult and witchcraft, and is now in full rebellion against God and her parents, turned to me and my wife, who is the founder of Surrender40, and after getting caught in some horrific lies, simply stated that she hated both of us. This all happened just a few days after the above pictures were taken, so satan is alive and well and trying to claim the souls of the children of God fearing parents!

These words CUT like a two edged sword, they cut deep, very deep, “I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU BOTH”.

At that very moment, for BOTH my wife and I our world turned BLACK, our hearts broke and the veil, the very curtain of our life felt like it was TORN in two. It was the closest that we have ever come to “LIVING” and “KNOWING” the grief that our Father in heaven felt the very moment that Jesus cried out to Him “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me”.

Now my wife has lost her Mom and her Grandmother, so she has felt that grief, but this was a first for me and I can tell you from the deepest part of my soul that it hurts beyond comprehension at the very moment that you first hear the words. The one thing that I can tell you about my wife and my daughter is this; I have never seen a closeness like this of two people that were brought together through a blended marriage. They have been "BEST FRIENDS" since Sara was 4 years old and Sara has often told my wife that she loves her so deeply and that no one has done more for her than she has. In my heart, their relationship could have only come from the "Agape" LOVE of God!

Now, I don't know how THIS story will end, but I do know that GOD ALWAYS WINS and that HE ALWAYS works for the GOOD of those that LOVE Him, so that is all I REALLY need to know. My faith in Him is huge, and although my daughter is being KEPT AWAY from us AGAINST our will right now, that ALL I have to know is that she is in the hands of God, the author and finisher of our faith, and that EVERYTHING will be done according to HIS WILL.

SO, pray for my wife and I, and PLEASE pray for our daughter, Sara, that she is freed from the bondage of the enemy and that she comes home to where she belongs, not necessarily to live physically in our home, because that may be just OUR WILL, NOT HIS, but that she be placed in the Hands of God, and that HE does with her life what HE would please to do, and use her in a mighty way to advance His Kingdom!

So, in closing, PLEASE.............“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean NOT on your own understanding, and in all your ways He will make your paths straight!

SURRENDER40 MINISTRIES PARTNERS WITH "OTHERS" FROM UTH NATION TO "FEED THE NEED" IN MIAMI

Today was a huge blessing for The Ministry Team of Surrender40 as Pastor Steve was invited to help out UTH NATION, the Youth Ministry of Calvary Chapel Kendall, in their monthly "Others Ministry". Organized by Senior Pastor Pedro Garcia and Youth Pastor Jose Casas Sr., "Others" "HIT THE STREETS" of Miami today to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and share the LOVE of God with His children that live on the mean streets of Miami. Over 70 youths left CCK this morning at about 10 AM and spread themselves out over 4 different locations throughout Miami-Dade County to tell people that God LOVES them and that JESUS IS ALIVE!!!!!

Pastor Steve was BLOWN AWAY by what he saw today, and God has truly anointed the leadership of UTH NATION because the Holy Spirit was moving everywhere they went today. The ministry team gave out food, clothing (graciously donated by Ivonne Gutierrez, a friend of Surrender40 Ministries), and Bibles. Pastor Steve also watched two things that touched his heart in a very special way. The first was a man that received a pair of pants that he had been praying for allot, but the only problem was that they were a bit too big and he had NO BELT! Pastor Jose reached for his belt buckle, pulled off HIS belt and handed it to the young man, and we know that at that moment there were smiles that spread across the heavens because that is what GIVING is really all about. Anyone can give from their abundance, but very few give from their NEED! What an awesome act of kindness and goodness. Thank you Pastor for being a TRUE leader and role model! The second thing that Pastor Steve said he would never forget was the anointing on the youth as they prayed for people and just LOVED all over them. There are a few young people that he would love to give some props to, including Thomas Colazzo, Arny, Jennifer, and SO MANY more that we just cannot name you all, but ALL of you were AWESOME AND ON FIRE FOR GOD!

We were extremely moved and BLESSED by Arny, who is 12 years old and has the heart of a warrior, and the energy of Pastor Pedro Garcia after 10 Red Bulls! Arny, although small in height, is BIG on character and VERY anointed as he just grabbed anyone and everyone to pray for their needs. This kid laid hands on people and ran around the parking lot at the Government Center like we were at a Benny Hinn Crusade. It was something that ANY parent would be proud of, so please know Maria Rodriguez that you have DONE an awesome job in raising this young man who can only be described as a modern day Daniel. WOW, what a day.

The ENTIRE TEAM OF "OTHERS", that belong to UTH NATION, are to be praised and thanked by all of us here at Surrender40 Ministries because today, YOU DID WHAT WE LOVE TO DO, GOD'S WORK AND GOD'S WILL! Great job, we are so proud of you all and it was an honor and a privilege to serve with you and we will always keep you in our prayers as we prepare to go to Idaho on Wednesday for our 1st 2011 National Mission Trip! Thank you again Pastor Pedro, Pastor Jose and the rest of the staff at Calvary Chapel Kendall for allowing us to be BLESSED by you and with you. It is a day we will cherish for years to come!

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We pray that God has you and your family in the most wonderful spiritual place that you could possibly be, and remember, if you are not there today, but your heart is right with Him, HE is preparing you, even now, to be there soon, very soon! Be ready, be patient, be still, and KNOW THAT HE IS GOD!

Now, with that being said, in our best Michael Buffer voice, and empowered powered by the spirit of Jesus using the methods of the apostle Paul,

"LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE"

Last year, we were moved by the power of The Holy Spirit to travel to the state of Rhode Island to go into a prison and minister to an inmate that was deathly ill and receiving chemotherapy treatment for a non-Hodgkin's form of lymphoma, but also needed to be assured through the Word of God that if he took his last breath in that prison, that he would walk on streets of gold with Jesus, FOREVER! The mission went well, and knowing that when God does one thing, He does many, we were in line to get into the prison and Trachena began to witness to a female visitor that we just know that we know that we know accepted Jesus that day because the seed that was sown that day was not the size of a mustard seed, but the size of a bowling ball. I could feel the anointing over Trachena as she ministered to this visitor at the prison. IT WAS AN AWESOME witness for me and a reminder over and over again about how blessed I am to be married to Trachena. The Holy Spirit used her in a mighty way.

Listening to the still small voice of God is gift that my wife has had for many years, yet it is one that I have prayed for diligently and continuously, and God has begun to answer those prayers recently in many ways. Almost two weeks ago, God told me in the deepest part of my heart to go to Boise, Idaho and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and also to prepare a way for my family GO DEEPER STILL and DO MORE for HIS KINGDOM!

Almost three years ago, Trachena & I went to Boise, because God had been telling her to go there for years. As a matter of fact, we had booked the trip many times and the enemy had ALWAYS found a way to interrupt the plans, so we knew in our hearts that there was something big out there that we were being called upon to do. During that trip, we were given a few concrete instances of what Beth Moore calls "God Stops", or things that you KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt HAVE GOD WRITTEN ALL OVER THEM! One was in a small store in downtown Boise, where I witnessed to a young lady that had been in terrible bondage to pills for way too long, and we talked for a while and we believe that she was SET FREE that day from her addiction. The second was from a man that approached us out of no where at the O'Hare Airport on the way home and said that God told him that I would be going to Bible College and I would become a Pastor and preach the Gospel Of Jesus Christ. Excuse me, did ALL of that come to pass with the constant support and encouragement of my beautiful wife and founder of this ministry, Trachena. So, here we are, going to Boise, Idaho on Wednesday, February 23rd 2011 in total obedience to His Word! So, why are sharing ALL of this with you? We need your help. You have known for years that we focus on FEEDING THE NEED and that we minister to thousands of homeless people in Miami. But remember that Surrender40 Ministries is also multi-faceted and that we go into prisons and hospitals as well, and that is what we are being led to do in a BIG WAY in Idaho.

WOW, what a Saturday, what a victory for God! You would NOT believe how hard the enemy tried to stop this amazing day. Here it is in a quick recap!

Trachena's Legs were on fire when she woke up, tears all morning! Steve had such severe pain in his stomach when he woke up that he sat out most of the food prep! We fought through it, we prayed in the spirit, and we got through it! Here we go...we drive to 244 West Flagler Street in total excitement to meet Rebel Church, CCK, and other friends from 90.9 LIFE:FM, and we get there and the police had closed off the block and chased EVERY homeless person off the street.

"TIME FOR PLAN B"

Our founder, and my beautiful wife says, OK, God just told me they are ALL at the Government Center about 5 blocks away. Off we go, and she was correct, there were hundreds of homeless people there in GREAT NEED!

Now the gates of heaven open and who arrives in MASS, REBEL CHURCH! It's a Rebelution!!!!

Also some regulars show up, Vivian and Julian and his friend, as well as Felix, a great ministry friend, also, Christina Sperduto, Sam, wow, it was AWESOME! We gave out 220 meals, 100 Bibles, 174 pairs of socks and TONS of clothing and blankets as well as hygiene items!

Pastor Steve & Trachena would like to say these thank you's as well as speak some prophetic words into some people's lives.

Jr. Casas, you are an anointed man of God and your ministry, as well as the GLORY that you will be giving to Jesus will be so huge that your Dad will someday have to make an appointment to see you, just kidding Pastor Jose-LOL!

Tito, the same my friend, because just the influence that you have had on our daughter Sara as a Youth Leader has touched our hearts and you have a HUGE anointing on you as well!

Thank you so much for all of your prayers and your support. Our 2nd Annual Christmas "FEED THE NEED" was a huge success and God showed up "BIG" again, as He ALWAYS does! We fed 300 people on this day, handed out 62 Bibles, and gave out 173 pairs of socks. We would like to thank the following people for showing up big and blessing Surrender40 Ministries in abundance:

The Soriano Family for donating ALL the hot meals, and the following saints for listening to God call them into action to serve His People;

"A STRONG YET LOVING MESSAGE TO THE SCROOGES OF SOCIAL NETWORKS"

As a Pastor, I have an obligation to the inerrant Word of God to be loving, forgiving, tolerant, understanding, slow to speak and not easily angered, and about 2,000 more adjectives that I cannot fit here. As a Christian, I have an obligation to be bold in my witness, teach and preach with LOVE, so that people are DRAWN to the message of The Cross, not pushed away. As a father, I have an obligation to be as much like my Heavenly Father as possible, truthful, reverent, understanding, strong, LOVING, kind patient and tolerant, and another 2,000 Fill-in-the-blank words!

So, with that being said, where am I going with all this? This is where.....TO ALL THE SCROOGES on Facebook and Twitter and Blogger and WordPress and so on and so on, that are trying to convince the entire social networking world that Christmas is a pagan holiday and that Santa Claus was like some long lost brother of satan..........GET THEE BEHIND ME!!!! You are a group of very legalistic and pharisee like people that look so hard for something to be wrong in the middle of something that is just so right! If you had some sort of traumatic hurt and pain on Christmas morning many years ago that caused you to hate Christmas...we are all sorry and we LOVE you even more because you are hurt, but do not blame the Roman calendar or the guy in the beard at the mall taking pictures with your our kids!

HERE IS THE MESSAGE THAT I WANT TO GET ACROSS TO YOU WITH LOVE!

December 25, April 9, August 20th.....whatever day it really was is the day we CELEBRATE.....SAY IT WITH ME NOW.....CELEBRATE the birth of The Son of God as a baby in Bethlehem. How do people that truly believe in the virgin birth, the Blood sacrifice of The Cross and the FREE gift of salvation, find themselves so lost and confused and caring so much about the actual date, or the commercialized symbols of Santa, and NOT focus on The ONLY BEGOTTEN Son of God?

OK, for all of you that are offended by this because you are SURE that the Roman calendar was done wrong and that Jesus was really born on, let's say September20th, get over yourselves and pick up a more worthwhile cross, like preaching to your UNSAVED family members and co-workers before they end up in the wrong place. So, in summary, here it is;

Christmas is about the BIRTH of our savior, and the very beginning of the reason that if you know Him and accept His Son as your Savior, you WILL be spending eternity with Him.
Easter, by the way, is the END of that Story here on Earth and the beginning of the most precious and undeserved period of Grace that the world has EVER seen!
Santa Claus is for kids, so is the Easter Bunny. NOBODY is posting that Barney is The Antichrist, are they?
Christmas Day, whatever day it REALLY is, is the day that LOVE was born! Nothing less yet so much more!
And last but not least, God hated the legalistic Pharisees because they were hypocrites, and had ZERO tolerance for them because they gave FALSE teachings and led people astray!

God Bless you abundantly for what you are doing! I myself was homeless about 3 years ago and if it weren’t for a ministry like yours helping me and God being at the head of it I would still be there. I am also celebrating 4 years crack free on March 14, 2011. I am now a freshman in college with a 3.8 GPA and the recipient of Presidents Lists Honors award. I thank God everyday for what he has done with my life and look forward to more. Praise the Lord for you and your team. If I was there I would love to team up with you guys as homelessness is my heart.

After reading this we invited her to write her testimony so we can post it to our website. Here is her testimony in her own words… WOW, get a tissue, God is so good!!

Here you go a shortened version of my story. You have my permission to reprint it in your blog.

I would like to share a story to show how good and faithful our God really is. This is my story.

From 2005 to 2007 I was homeless, a crack addict, being severely abused, and in and out of shelters. The concrete was my bed and the sky was my cover for so many years. I was assaulted with a knife, held up at gun point, and watched my best friend get raped and their was nothing I could do about it. I smoked weed since I was 11 also. As a homeless person I was spit on, looked down on, and talked about like I was trash. I spent many hours in some kind of line, the soup kitchen line, the clothing line, the food line, and the shelter line. A lot of people think that we want to be out there and seeing as how there are people who want to live that lifestyle, I was not one of them. I spent most of my nights crying out to God to save me from this life or take me from this life.

One night I was staying in a hotel and was high on crack most of the time. On March 17, 2007 I was sitting on my bed with a knife in one hand and a crack pipe in the other and my plans were to smoke all the crack I had and kill myself. I felt worthless like no one could love me not even God himself. God intervened that night and set me free from my addiction of crack instantly. My addiction to weed was not so quickly gone. It took about another month to get over that but I did. About 6 months later I met this church group and two people in particular were Paul and Hance. They were the ministry leaders. They kept coming by and ministering both physical food and spiritual food. One day about a month afterward we were expecting a large storm and Paul came by to see where we were going to stay during the storm (hurricane). We said right here in the streets. He said no you’re going to my house for the weekend. That was the first weekend of transformation. One weekend turned into a week and then one day Paul said God told me to move you in and help you get on your feet. It was my fiance and I at the time. So we moved in with Paul and shortly after that my fiance was offered a job by a guy at our church. About 3 months later, we got married and we moved into our own place, a small 30 ft trailer. God kept us there a year and then moved us into a 3 bedroom 2 bath larger trailer on 1 acre of land with an awesome landlord. We moved in for nothing and did not have to pay rent till the next month for cleaning up the place. See God at work there?

In July of 2009, I started my freshman year at college and I am going for my bachelors in psychology with an emphasis on substance abuse. God has done so much and given me so much that I want to be his servant and give back much more to those that need it. If you think your situation is hopeless, trust in God with all you have, and He will transform your life to a wonderful and precious thing. With his help you can do it. March 14, 2011 I will be celebrating my fourth year clean from drugs and my 3rd year of not being homeless. I will also be starting my sophomore year in college. Last month I received the President's Lists Honors for getting and keeping a 3.97 GPA. Right now I have a 3.7 GPA and I am in the Honors Program. Next term I will be a student mentor for new students. I never seen this in my eyes, but when you look through the eyes of God, oh the beauty and the awesomeness you can see. I love the Lord with all my heart and soul. I also have a heart for the homeless and the drug addicts and the abused. I want to do whatever I can to help alleviate this problem in our country. We need to stand together as communities and help those who need it. Reach out to someone today and when you get a smile in return, know that you have been blessed. Another thing God has done for me is to keep my intellectual ability in tact even through all the drugs I have used in my life. When professors write that it was a pleasure to have a student of my caliber in their class, it makes me know that without God, I could not have done any of it. God is the God of impossible! Give Him your impossible and watch him turn it into a possible.

Father, in the Name above all names, Jesus, we ask you to bless this ministry in abundance as we desire to do ONLY your will. It seems as if we are losing the battle Lord, but in the end YOU will always have VICTORY! Father God, we are in the season that people are called to give to others, and yet our needs grow greater by the day. We watch people go into stores and spend thousands on gifts for others yet your people, who are called by YOUR Name, go hungry. We are far short of our goals Lord, yet we WE will continue to stand in faith that you will provide ALL our needs and answer our cries for the homeless and the prisoners and sick!

Surrender40 Passes 6,000 Meals Served-"Miami Style"

PRAISE THE LORD!!

That is the only way to start this post. The Ministry Team of Surrender40 GREW today by TWO WHOLE families, and did something that we have NEVER done before-SERVED HOT MEALS!

The AWESOME truth of this story and the absolute evidence of God's POWER is that we were just moments away on Thursday from canceling this weeks "FEED THE NEED" because we just did not receive enough donations and could not pay for the food, and then the phone call came! The phone call that resulted in all the blessings that you see above. The owners of Maranata Construction Corporation, Yismel and Ismael Soriano, and their wonderful wives and families, called us to BLESS the ministry with 6 HUGE trays of Chicken & Rice, enough to feed over 300 people---WHICH WE DID! What a blessing the Soriano family was today as all of them pitched in to FEED, PRAY FOR and LOVE ON the homeless people of downtown Miami. We cannot express enough gratitude and love towards the Soriano Family for partnering with us and allowing God to use them in mighty way!

Now, for another really BIG Blessing!

The Ministry Team of Surrender40, which began as a vision from God on Christmas Eve, 2008 to our founder Trachena, has now served over 6,000 meals since the very first time we hit the streets in March of 2009. We give ALL the Glory to God, as always. We also gave out 91 Bibles, prayed with many people, in English and Spanish, and handed out a ton of clothing that was brought by our friends Alex and Robert as well as some of the ladies that joined us. We want to again thank Geoff Hardcastle, Christina & Vanessa Sperduto, and everyone else that helped make this mission a huge success today. We cannot thank you enough for your love and support.

Last, but NEVER least, we would like to again thank Senior Pastor Pedro Garcia, Pastor Jorge Avila and the staff at Calvary Chapel Kendall as well as the ministry team at 90.9 LIFE:FM in Miami. How Do I Come Back

On Sunday, November 7, 2010 in the middle of preaching the Word of God to a large group of homeless people in downtown Miami, Florida, during a “FEED THE NEED” mission by The Ministry Team of Surrender40, a man approached during the sermon and spoke these words,

HOW DO I COME BACK?

What you haven't been told yet is that the Pastor was speaking to people that at one time may have known Jesus and have strayed away from Him, He who is The Way, The Truth and The Life, and something in this man’s spirit made him walk off the food line and walk right up to the Pastor and ask this question. He had NO shame, NO hesitation, and NO embarrassment about stopping him in the middle of his sentence to ask HOW!

What does that say to you? Is he a prodigal son, being torn apart inside by the pain of the sin he has been living in? Was he a man of God at one time that has fallen so far from God that The Holy Spirit knew that THIS was his time to come home? Was he a preachers kid, lost and far from home, living, no surviving on the streets of Miami, just waiting, hoping and praying that he would eat that day? Or was he just like you and me, a lost child, looking for his Father to hold him and love him and remind him that he has value, worth and dignity? None of us knew at that moment why Jason was asking to come back, all we knew was that it was THIS MOMENT that we meant to be present on that day, and probably one of the reasons why Surrender40, and Pink Love Ministries exist, to reach God’s people with LOVE!

SO, how do we come back? How do we return to Holy God when we feel so ashamed and dirty, covered in the sin that we live in. How do we come before the righteous Lamb of God when we have sinned beyond our wildest dreams and lowered ourselves MILES below our lowest expectations?

This…….is how!

We go to The Cross, where Jesus Christ paid the price for our sin over 2,000 years ago on a tree at Calvary, and we say this;

Lord, I had you with me, and I strayed. I turned my back on you and went away, but now I see the error of my ways, and now I want to turn again to you. Please forgive me for my sin, and wash me by the Blood of the Lamb. I want to serve you and ONLY you for all the days of my life. Father, I am coming back home to you because I know that you, and ONLY you will never leave me or forsake me. Thank you for loving me when I was unlovely. Thank you for saving me when I did not deserve it. Thank you for being My God! In Jesus Name, Amen.

Please know that NO MATTER what you have done, your Father in Heaven is waiting for you to Come Back with open and loving arms, ALWAYS! No Exceptions! Pass this on to someone that needs it and God Bless You all!

All we really want to say is "THANK YOU JESUS".

The Ministry Team of Surrender40 was so blessed by yesterday's mission to "FEED THE NEED" that we must share some things with all of you! First and foremost, even though it was stated, Thank you Jesus for all your love and blessings yesterday, November 7, 2010.

We were so BLESSED to have some friends of Surrender40, who are also members of Trinity Church in North Miami, Florida, Calvary Chapel Kendall, as well as listeners of 90.9 LIFE:FM, the greatest Christian Radio station on the planet, show up BIG to help us feed the homeless and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So here is a big Surrender40 hug and thank you for Christina Sperduto, Vanessa Michelle Sperduto, Geoffrey Hardcastle, Vivian Oliveira and her awesome son. Again, a heartfelt thank you to all of you! We were touched by your love for God's work!

In all, we handed out 220 "Love Bags", 65 Bibles and 191 pairs of socks as well as a ton of clothing that were donated by Joe Wick, Trachena's awesome uncle, and Pat McDonald, the blessed Mommy of Robin Lynn Brewer, the inmate from Homestead Correctional Facility that we have absolutely adopted to be part of our family, and whom Trachena loves like a sister! In addition, a few people came BACK to the cross and rededicated their lives, one man in particular whose question to me will lead to the very next devotional that we write for Pink Love Ministries, our sister ministry that blesses women in prison, also created by our founder Trachena.

Remember that WE CANNOT do this without your love and donations, so please keep the prayers and blessings coming, God will absolutely smile upon you, and than according to His Word, multiply that blessing, 30-60-100 fold!

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAKE

One day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So they got into a boat and set out.

So, what did they find when they got there?

When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!"

Jesus, Son of the Most High God, WOW!

Do you realize that Jesus never announced who He was. The disciples did not come on shore and say "ATTENTION" The Son of God is getting out of the boat now, bow before Him! Nobody called ahead to say that Jesus of Nazareth was coming, nobody knew, EXCEPT, the demons.
That's right, even the demons know and say the Name above all names. They say "Son of the Most High God"

SO, HOW do you NOT KNOW, how do you NOT SEE? How do we walk by the homeless and hungry EVERYDAY of our lives and not wonder if that is a "Ministering Angel" sent by The Father to test our hearts?

Do we understand the power and possibility of the scripture-Hebrews 13:2
"Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares"

Do you realize that downtown Miami is "The Other Side of The Lake"? It is the place where NOBODY likes to go, unless they are passing through on their way to Heat game or to buy diamonds at the Seybold Building. It is the place where the lepers and demons live and mothers and fathers warn their kids NOT TO GO THERE!

THIS IS WHERE WE GO! EVERY OTHER SUNDAY!

Important Change in Schedule

We need everyone to keep one of our co-founders, Steve, in prayer as he is now scheduled for surgery next Thursday, September 9th.

WE are believing God, as always, that Steve is safe and in His hands, and will experience a very quick recovery and be able to return to the Mission Fields ASAP!

OUR STORY

Surrender40 began as a voice from God speaking to our founder, Trachena on the eve of Christmas, 2008. No explanation, no real direction at that point, except that she knew that she knew that she knew that it WAS HIS voice telling her to Feed His Sheep on the mean streets of downtown Miami, Florida. Miami is among the Top 5 Un-Churched cities in America. By its very nature and reputation, a party town and a very dark, drug infested city! Obedient to His voice, Trachena, along with her husband and co-founder, Steve, began to organize what is now known as Surrender40, Inc. a nonprofit ministry that has also been blessed with the fact that we have been awarded tax-exempt status under IRS code 501(c)(3), therefore making all contributions tax deductible as allowed by law.

The ultimate dream of Surrender40 is to someday open a shelter for people coming out of prison, or who desire to get off the streets and devote their lives to the very God who created them and will NEVER stop loving them. They will be placed in a 40 day program where they will learn structure, skills, and scripture, in order to regain the self worth that God intended for us all to have since we are created by Him and for Him. They will then turn around to disciple others in the same way that they were trained up!

Surrender40 is blessed with the privilege of feeding over 200 people every two weeks as well as handing out Bibles, socks, clothing, hygiene items and BEST of all preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost and homeless of Miami. We also visit inmates at the Homestead Correctional Facility as well as other prisons around the country when we are called. In addition, we have a hospital team that prays for and ministers to sick people in various Florida hospitals. Our new sister ministry, Pink Love Ministries, http://pinkloveministires.com was created by Trachena to write devotionals to women inmates and give them the hope and faith that is in Jesus Christ.

Devotionals are written on a weekly basis and sent out to over 100 women, a large majority of them that are incarcerated for life, every two weeks. It is our heart and desire as we petition God to someday do these ministries FULL TIME, and feed the homeless every day until there is NO MORE hunger on the streets of Miami or Jesus returns for His Church, whichever comes first!

The ultimate dream of Pink Love Ministries is to eventually send a devotional out every week to EVERY female prisoner in America in order to let them know that they are LOVED and NEVER forgotten. We know that with God, this and ALL things are possible!

YOU ARE HERE TO KILL ME....AREN'T YOU?

I remember taking my last hit of crack about two hours earlier, and the desperation of the damage that I had done, along with the bridges that I had burned over the last seven days was like a piercing knife in my heart. As I walked along the train tracks of 79th Street in Miami, the ONLY relief that I could think of, the ONLY choice that I thought I had, was to take my own life. I thought I had known Jesus for many years but chose through my own sorrow and shame to turn my back on him because I felt unworthy, useless and very ashamed to face God. I found that knowing OF Jesus was not enough; that I still had emptiness deep inside that not even drugs could fill. So at the very end of what I saw as a miserable existence, I found myself next to the tracks waiting for a train that would end all my suffering. As I turned to sit on a ledge and ask God to forgive me for taking the coward’s way out, I saw a large dark figure coming towards me in the dark. He was a huge man, old and shadowy and as he approached I believed with all my heart that what I was about to ask him was the truth. As he stood over me I felt a wave of fear at his size and his shadow that covered most of the light from the train yard, I turned to him and said “You are here to kill me, aren’t you? What happened next could have been a story right out of The Bible, as he turned to me in the most loving and soft voice and said,

“NO, my name is Eli, and I am here to tell you that God LOVES you”. Suddenly, the fear was gone and I began to cry in a way that I had never cried before. I shared with him everything I had been through, what I had done, who I had hurt and why I had wanted to die, and then I asked him why I should not end my suffering. His response to me confirmed the fact that the Creator of the universe had sent this angel to me to give me “another” chance at redemption. Another offering of God’s Mercy & Grace.

So why Eli, should I not end my pain? “Because child, he said, Your Father says it is NOT your time. There are many things that you have been called to do and NOW is NOT your time, go”. As I stood up and turned, I looked around to touch him and thank him and he was GONE, completely and suddenly gone. I remember having a peace come over me although my sadness was very deep and then began to walk to the nearest pay phone on 79th Street. The call that I would make would also change my life forever, as I called my best friend, who also happens to be the founder of this ministry. Please understand that life has not been perfect since that night but there has NEVER been another second that I have doubted if God loved me or not, and if I ever wondered again why I did not feel CLOSE to Him, it was because I moved way, NOT HIM!

In conclusion, I want to say these few things;

It is ALWAYS darkest before the dawn!

There sometimes will be MUCH sorrow at night, BUT…JOY comes in the mourning!

God will NEVER leave you or forsake you!

When you are surrounded by darkness and despair, LOOK UP, for our Father in Heaven is right there waiting for you to call on the Name of His Son………Jesus. Because…Jesus Saves!

The Ministry Team of Surrender40 is deeply saddened that they had to cancel the "FEED THE NEED" event that was scheduled for last Sunday August 15th. Over 70% of the team were stricken ill with stomach flu's or other afflictions and we could not jeopardize the health of our team, nor our very beloved homeless friends. This event will be rescheduled for Sunday, August 29, at 4 PM. We wish to thank ALL the people that support us and also the ones that volunteered to help so far and urge you to keep us in your prayers and look forward confidently and expectantly to August 29, when we will once again HIT THE STREETS of Miami to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost & needy sheep of Miami! WHY SURRENDER

The dictionary defines surrender as the following;

Surrender - To yield to the possession or power of another
To give up, abandon, or relinquish, yield or resign in favor of another.
To give oneself up, as into the power of another; submit or yield.

It is very clear, “The act of giving up power to another”. However, what Mr. Webster failed to state was that “Another” can only truly be ONE other. That ONE can only be the Living God, the Creator of the Universe and the giver of all life. As Christians, people that have accepted Christ as our personal Lord & Savior, we all at some point have “Surrendered” to the sovereign Lord and asked His forgiveness into our hearts and lives as we were being “Born Again”.

As humans, people that live in a fallen world, as a fallen race, we UN-Surrender our lives on a daily basis, but that is another blog at another time. For now, we just want to cover what is necessary for people to do in order to be truly free.

This life is a huge paradox my friends! The basic principle that we need to get across today, is in itself, a paradox;

“SURRENDER TO BE FREE”

On a very personal note, I want to share with you that I have lived in bondage most of my entire life. Bondage, what is that? It is slavery, serving another master, giving into the temptations of this world and the lies of satan, the father of all lies. I have turned my back on the God who loves me many times, in order to fill the voids and holes with evil things, instead of with God. You see my friends; the very God who created us designed us with a hole inside. A hole that can ONLY be filled with the One who created us all. God, in all HIS Glory, desires that we glorify Him, and turn to Him to fill that void. We on the other hand, would rather fill that void with things that we can see, as well as things that will make us feel good immediately. The problem is, that after the lights go out, and the party’s over, the money is gone, the porno has ended, and the girl or guy has gone home, we are left with not only that hole that God designed, but the feelings of guilt, shame and loneliness that ALWAYS comes after dawn breaks. For years I lived that life, and now something even sadder then that. Even after accepting Christ as my Lord, I returned to that life so many times I can’t count them, only to end up at what I call, the edge of The Valley of Death. That is the place we all go to when we are in so much pain, and feel so much guilt that we do not feel life is worth living. I am guilty at times of relating to the world through movie lines, and one of the best that I ever heard was from Kevin Spacey in “The Usual Suspects”, when he said, “The greatest trick the devil ever played was to make the world believe he doesn’t exist”

My friends, please don’t be fooled by this lie. He is real, and the Bible says in 1st Peter 5:8, “Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”. Please know, my friends, that God always gives us a way out of temptation. We do NOT have to submit to the things of this world as I did for most of my life.

PLEASE, remember the words of the apostle Paul in 1st Corinthians 10:13 where he says “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it”.

WHAT IS THE ANSWER?

Surrender, total and unconditional surrender to the very God that created us. But, that is scary, how can I trust that, you say?

Use these words from Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

That is one of the most awesome promises of God that I have ever heard, and I stand on that one on a daily basis in my walk with Him. Listen beloved, my way, no, the very BEST of my way, only lead me to the edge of The Valley of Death. It was in ONLY total surrender to Our Father in heaven that I came to a place of peace. It was ONLY through TOTAL surrender that I was freed from the bondages of this world. It was ONLY in giving my entire life, will and desires to Him that I found TOTAL freedom from oppression and slavery.

Are you ready to be free today? Are you hungry for the promises of God to come true in your life, and be set free from the bondages of the one who comes to steal, kill and destroy? If you are at the edge of that valley I spoke of, SURRENDER your will and your life to Jesus, who died to set ALL captives free. If you are a Christian already, and you need to turn BACK to face God, then do so with the full knowledge that His Mercy and Grace is sufficient, and that he longs for that moment when we ALL come home to Him! He loves us all, and it is His desire that no one shall perish. Come home to Him,

BARS or RABBITS

As I stood in my tiny cell at the east end of the German prison where I was doing time, I looked out the window on a very cold and snowy December morning but I really couldn’t see any snow. All I saw was 4 very solid steel bars running up and down the cold concrete square that was my window. I remember being bitter and mad at the world that I was 4,000 miles away from home and had lost my last bit of freedom due to my bondage to drugs. I had known Jesus years earlier but truly felt like He had abandoned me since I was in a pretty hopeless and lost place. I was mad at Him and His Father because I was sure that they had forgotten about me. So, there I stood, attempting to look out a window but all I saw were BARS!

Bad situation, bad place, bad attitude. No freedom, no view, just bars!

I remember feeling a burning deep in my heart, a yearning to go home to my Mother and Father and the country that I had served and loved so much. I truly felt like the prodigal, eating the slop from the pen full of pigs, and then suddenly remembered the story of the prodigal and realized ONE thing that would change EVERYTHING.

I was the one that ran away from my Father, my Father in Heaven, and that He would NEVER leave me or forsake me as His word promises. I was the one that moved away, NOT Him! I dropped to my knees and asked Him to forgive me and take me back into His loving arms again. I begged Him to set me free from internal bondage and to help me understand that “Whom the Son sets FREE, is FREE indeed” John 8:36

I remember getting up from my knees about a thousand pounds lighter and walking over to the window with tears in my eyes. Something wonderful had happened when I wasn’t looking. Something miraculous had happened while I was praying. Looking outside my window I suddenly saw snow, but not just regular snow, tons of beautiful white snow with pretty trees covered in white and in the middle of all that beauty, there was one more thing I could see that I never saw before. Rabbits, lots of rabbits and they were all playing and running around without a care in the world because the Bible says that He takes care of ALL His creation…ALL of it, especially His Children-Me + You!

So, in closing, I want to share this with you and ask you to take it to heart. It all comes down to this, on the days that I was far from God, and stuck in the pain and misery of the life I had created for myself, I saw NOTHING but BARS! Yet when I looked towards Heaven and sought the heart of Our Father, and realized how precious I really am in His sight, and that HE will NEVER leave me, ever………I saw…….RABBITS!

So, when you look out at life, what will you see today, Bars or rabbits?

Join us as our ministry team preaches the Gospel of Jesus Christ while we "FEED THE NEED" in downtown Miami, Florida on July 25, 2010. We handed out 220 "Love Bags" and 45 Bibles, as well as 150 pairs of socks. The above video also contains some images from a few past events as well as that very special Mother's Day when our son Daniel joined us for the first time.

A few days before we hit the streets of Miami this Sunday, Steve, one of the co-founders of our ministry team was interviewed On-the-Air by Donna Jean, the host of the morning drive radio program on Miami's # 1 Christian Radio Station WLFE 90.9 LifeFM.

Be the “Light”

The following devotional is being mailed to a large number of women in the Homestead Correctional facility, in Homestead, Florida as part of our sister ministries (PINK LOVE MINISTRIES) ongoing mission of;

"Reaching women everywhere with LOVE through the heart of God"

So, before you read it, acquire the mindset that you are in Prison-------------Oh yeah, by the way............FOR LIFE!!!!

If you are reading this devotional there is a really good chance that you are in a very dark place, or maybe going through a very dark period of your life. If that is the case, and that is YOUR truth today, then know that there is NO MISTAKE you are reading this today. God has chosen you this very day to receive His Word through this. Make no mistake about it, you were chosen to read this.

So what do we mean by “Be the Light”? I can almost hear you saying this to our ministry team;
“Are you kidding me? The “Light”, OK, that’s funny!! Did you know that I am sitting in the darkest, most depressing place I have ever been in my entire life? If you were sitting in my body and you had my life, than you would never ask me to be the light. There is nothing LIGHT about this place. I have NO freedom, I have NO peace, I have NO privacy, there is NOTHING but madness and darkness, SO, where is this LIGHT you are talking about, I don’t see it? Please tell me where is this LIGHT?

You have not found the light because you are looking in the wrong place. It’s not in the dorm, it’s not in the yard or the chow hall, and it is certainly absolutely not at visitation! But, before we share with you where the LIGHT is let’s go directly to the true source of ALL answers, The Bible.

In Matthew 5:15 Jesus said “Neither do men light a lamp and then place it under the bed, but place it on a stand to light up the whole house”. Even so, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven”

OK Pink Love, break that down a little more. Are you saying that I am the light?

Why yes beloved sister, you are the LIGHT!!! You see, Jesus is the LIGHT of the world, and when He left this world to be seated at the right hand of His Father in Heaven, He placed that Light in EVERYONE who would believe in Him and call on His Name, and yes that means you.
Scripture says that “You will know HIS people by their fruit”. Do you know that no matter what you have done in your past, NO MATTER WHAT, that when you call on Jesus and ask for Him to come into your heart and to forgive you of your sins, then your slate is clean, your sins are forgiven, and you become a new creature in Christ. How is that? Because Jesus paid the price for you on the cross at Calvary over 2,000 years ago, and ever since that day when He cried “It is FINISHED”, and He took His last human breath, the huge gap (one that we could never close without His death) was closed and we forever had access to God again. WOW, what an awesome thought! God loved ME enough to lose His only child so that I could be forgiven! Sit and think about that for a while, because it’s an AWESOME TRUTH! So, in closing, know this! God has placed the LIGHT of His Son Jesus, in each and every believer. Yes beloved, YOU ARE THE LIGHT! Please know that whom the Son sets free is free indeed, and today YOU may be the ONLY LIGHT that someone else will see. The Glory of God lives within all of us and all of you.
The Joy of The Lord is the LIGHT that will attract others to you, as a moth is drawn to light, and through that drawing, others will see your LIGHT and say, “Wow, something is different about you”.

Yes, they are right, something is different, it’s the Glory of God, it’s the Joy of The Lord………………………it’s HIS LIGHT, IN YOU!!! BE THE “LIGHT”

"AND IF I PERISH, I PERISH"

“When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish." Esther 4:15

These are the very courageous words of the Queen of Persia, Esther, as she prepared to approach a very young, inexperienced and emotional King Xerxes to plead with him to stop the TOTAL annihilation of the Jewish people. If the king was in a bad mood that day, he could have her killed instantly, even though she was Queen, and more importantly, his bride. What courage this must have taken, what a magnificent statement of faith Queen Esther displayed as she unselfishly prepared to sacrifice her life for her people.

Do you know that the Name of God is NOT mentioned anywhere in the story of Esther in the Bible, yet we see such magnificent evidence of HIS Hand all over the story. And the greatest evidence that we see of His mercy and grace in Esther, the absolute beauty of what we call “Reversal of Destiny”.

In Esther, we are given a close up look at the ongoing struggle of Satan against the purposes of God and especially against His promised Messiah. The birth of Christ into the human race was totally dependent upon the existence of the Jewish race. Just as Haman plotted against the Jews in order to destroy them, so has Satan set himself against Christ and God’s people. Just as Haman is defeated on the gallows he built for Mordecai, so does Christ use the very weapon that his enemy devised to destroy Him and His spiritual seed. For the cross, by which satan planned to destroy the Messiah, was the very means through which Christ “having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” Colossians 2:14-15

Haman was hanged on the gallows he built for Mordecai, so the devil was crushed by the cross he erected to destroy Christ. Esther proved to have a godly and very humble spirit that also showed great strength and willing obedience. Esther’s humility was very different from those around her, and this caused her to be elevated into the position of queen.

Woman everywhere would do well to emulate her godly attitudes in all areas of life, but especially in trials. Not once is there a complaint or bad attitude exposed in the Book of Esther. Many times we read she won the "favor" of those around her. This “favor” is what ultimately saved her people. We can be given such favor as we accept even unfair persecution and follow Esther’s example of maintaining a positive attitude, coupled with humility and the determination to lean on and fully trust in God.

So, in closing, it does not matter whether in prison or the or free world, Jew or Gentile, white or black, rich or poor. We are all placed here to show love, grace, mercy, humility and unselfishness to ALL people, regardless of our circumstance, regardless of the cost!

Who knows but maybe God has placed YOU in such a position, for just such a time as this?

What if YOU were getting Chemotherapy and THIS is where YOU lived?

BIG HOUSE?

Yes, literally, it is THE BIG HOUSE, in Cranston, Rhode Island. Now, imagine that you are doing time inside this or any other prison for something that God KNOWS you DID NOT DO, and then you were told you have a type of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and needed chemotherapy. Then, imagine that most of your family ignored you because they did not believe you and you had to basically go through ALL of the treatments alone!

HORRIBLE-UNSETTLING-SCARY-LONELY, AND TRUE!

This is exactly what Kenneth Michael is living through, and the very reason that God moved upon the hearts of this ministry to fly up there last weekend and minister the Gospel of Love, the Gospel of Truth, the Gospel of Hope, the saving and cleansing Gospel of Jesus Christ to a man that needs to hear that he is loved and cared for by God, and yes, by you! Through your love and support, we were able to raise almost $600 to cover part of the $1200 in expenses that it cost for this ministry to visit him in prison. But more then his life was touched by God while we were there, and that is exactly HOW He works. Even the young lady at the rental car counter made a verbal commitment to return to church after the POWER of the Holy Spirit moved in her life in that airport on Friday night. So, please pray for Renee and her children, that God would move in their lives and place a hedge of love and protection around them and lead them back to a church in their area that is ALIVE and thriving. Remember, when God does one thing, HE does many!

Kenneth Michael was very BLESSED by Surrender40 and the encouragement that he heard. I imagine that it may have been a while since he was told FACE TO FACE that God loves him and that we do as well. It was a trip well worth it as he confirmed to us that he had recommitted his life to Jesus and that he was ready to face eternity with confidence knowing exactly where he will go when he draws his last breath. So, for all of you that donated, God Bless you and thank you, and for those that are touched by this post, we are still VERY short of our financial need, as we stepped out in faith and paid for this trip ourselves. Please search your heart and help support this mission, and all the future missions that are being planned even as you read this.

Surrender40 NEEDS YOUR HELP as the ministry HITS THE ROAD for the first time to minister to a VERY SICK prisoner

This is the beginning of a very special campaign to help us raise funds for the trip up north so that we can visit and minister to a very sick man in a prison up north. Being in the ministry, we are well aware that life is a precious gift that is renewed each day by God’s mercy and grace. We also know that this life is but a vapor, so short and so fragile, and when we take our last breath, the very next instant, we will stand before the God of ALL creation to receive our final judgment. For this very reason, we will leave the safety and comfort of South Florida to travel to a prison up north and minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a man that we have ministered to for years, who is now incarcerated and very sick, to ensure that his path is one of repentance and righteousness.

Kenneth Michael is currently being treated in prison with a very powerful chemotherapy agent for a non-Hodgkin’s type lymphoma. Although we stand in prayer that by His stripes, Kenneth Michael will be healed, we are also well aware that we serve a God who “Gives and takes away”. We also know that tomorrow is promised to no one, therefore, God has placed it (very strongly I might add) in our hearts for members of the ministry team of Surrender40, to fly up north and minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ in person. This is a plea for help so that we can pay for the airfare and visit there. Kenneth Michael is a middle aged man that has the heart of a saint. This is a man that you would be proud to call your Dad or your uncle.

This man is a wonderful human being and now he faces the possibility of an early death in his 40’s, yet he does so with courage and faith, but there is one thing that is disturbing to us. He is basically ALL alone. Unfortunately, he has been abandoned by many of the people that were close to him while he is in prison. He NEEDS to have people that love him come visit him and pray with him in person to encourage his spirit and bolster his faith.

Not the most positive way to start a post, but these are the true and heartbreaking words spoken by members of the Ministry Team of Surrender40 as we pulled up to the first homeless outreach area for today’s “Feed the Need” in downtown Miami.

Let us first and foremost apologize for not posting as often as we were, and tell you that we are so excited to return to the streets of Miami to feed our homeless family. We have been on a short hiatus as one of our co-founders, my beautiful wife Trachena, is recovering from knee surgery and was still unable to join us. It was her wish and desire that we go back to our roots today and hit the streets. Trachena loves feeding the homeless and ministering the Word of God so much that she cried when we left the house today to go downtown. That is just the heart for God that my wife has, unselfish, giving and unrelenting about serving. So, off we went because as she stated, this is God’s work, and should not really stop just because of her injury. When we made the last turn onto the block that is usually our first stop on our mission, something was different, very, very different. We saw the largest mass of people under I-95 that we have ever seen. Usually at this stop we feed on an average of 50-60 people. Today, there were almost 200 that approached the vehicles that we were in, at our first stop! When we got out of our cars and prepared to feed the people that God brought to us, we looked at each other and said the same thing,

“IT’S GETTING WORSE, NOT BETTER”

Please keep in mind that we usually show up with 220 meals, over 100 pairs of socks, and very often have clothing and blankets, as was the case today. But NOTHING could have prepared us for what we saw today. The second stop was more of the same, MUCH MORE! There had to be another 200-300 people by the American Airlines Arena just waiting and hoping that someone would provide for them, praying that maybe they would not have to go to bed hungry on this night.

So, what does all this mean to a ministry like ours? Do we turn our heads and in defeat, walk away, NO!!!! It means we have to ask God to “Turn up the Heat”. Increase our blessings so we can provide for HIS people. Grow our ministry, enlarge our borders, and take us to the next level of servant hood. Please pray for us and please search your hearts so that you can support us with your donations of money, blankets, and clothing and hygiene items. We count on you for blessings from God.

We would like to say a very special thank you to the following people that donated special items for our mission trip this week. Pam, for all the beautiful blankets and the hard work that you did to create that special labor of love for our ministry. Angie and her family for all the awesome clothing, as well as the prayers that WE KNOW you always pray. And of course, Teresa and the team at Comfort Socks, for all the socks we gave out today! Thank you all and God Bless you in your giving. In addition, all the people that donated to the financial needs of this ministry for this mission, we thank you and pray for an AWESOME harvest for you and your families.

Miami's Homeless Face Yet Another Demon

This weekend we received a call from a man that was present at one of our street missions late last year. I remember him walking up to us with his camera in hand as we handed out "Love Bags" on SW 2nd Street in downtown Miami and asking us what we were doing. When we stopped and took the time to explain the mission and ministry of Surrender40, he seemed amazed that anyone would really take the time and effort to love on and care for the homeless and hungry of a city like Miami. We spent a few minutes talking while he explained that he was a private citizen that writes articles for local newspapers and blog sites. The content of the call this weekend was very disturbing, and if the City of Miami has it's way and proceeds with what they are planning, (See article in link below) then the very future of Surrender40 and other homeless ministries is very dark.

The City of Miami wants to require people like us to pay for and maintain a license to feed the homeless, clean up the streets (which our people and friends of the ministry already do), and provide portable toilets for the homeless after we feed them. WOW, what an abomination to all the scriptures we have ever read about loving the poor and blessing the needy. The city actually wants to profit from the work we do for God's Kingdom.

After reading the article below, please post a comment, say a prayer, start a petition, write a letter, something, anything to help us stop the madness of persecuting people that have a heart to help others. We NEED your voice, through prayer and petition, to stop the persecution that is about to take place. As the members of our ministry go through another anointed Beth Moore Bible Study about Revelation, we are being shown more and more evidence that we are indeed living in the end times. As you read the article below, remember these two very important facts, not opinions, facts.

The True Meaning of Valentine's Day

Simply stated, God is LOVE.

It should be remembered that way everyday, not only on a day that the world sets aside for love, but everyday. Remember that God SO LOVED the world, that he gave his only begotten Son." That my friends, is pure LOVE!

Ask yourself on this day, set aside by the world to express our meek little ideas of what love is, if we would give our sons and daughters to die for a sin filled world! While the title of the post may suggest a very popular song by Britt Nicole, we have come to understand that it is also one of the many answers that God has given the ministry team of Surrender40 as we hit the streets of Miami to "Feed the Need". Please take a very close look at the picture above and ask yourself how you would feel if you were sleeping on the streets and had no food, no place to live, and very possibly NO HOPE! You would feel lost, no doubt...you would feel very, very LOST!

God has shown us through vision and much prayer and fasting that He wants US to go find His lost, to Feed & Clothe and Pray for them. God will ALWAYS provide for His people, and we are honored and humbled that He has BLESSED us with the opportunity to serve Him in this way.

Again, we would like to give a special thanks and God Bless You to Comfort Socks of North Carolina, a wonderful non-profit ministry that has become a covenant partner with us and will be providing socks for us on a regular basis.

Today was an awesome day of ministry as we handed out 220 more "Love Bags"and passed out 66 more Bibles, as well as 280 pairs of Comfort Socks and some clothing.

WHO CRIES FOR AMERICA?

I pray that people look deep into their hearts for the truth we are writing about here in this post instead of falsely believing that we are trying to stir up controversy. We are NOT, and never will! Allow us to also say that our hearts and prayers go out EVERY DAY to the country and the people of Haiti, as well as all the relatives back here that are so deeply affected by this tragedy. We also want to tell you that Surrender40 has donated money to the relief effort so that people can continued to be fed and also rescued. After all, we are ALL about the Lost being Found. But this needs to be said, even at a time such as this, when the smoke from Haiti is still rising from the ashes of destruction.

We want the rescues to continue, we want the people to be saved so that God can have ALL the Glory. But we also want all of America to look DEEP within their hearts and ask yourself this question......................

WHO CRIES FOR AMERICA? WHO CRIES FOR OUR FRIENDS AND THE CHILDREN THAT SLEEP ON THE STREETS OF THE RICHEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD? WHO? PLEASE TELL ME, WHO?

Humanity is quite amazing, really unique as species go! We rally around heartbreak and disaster like no other species, or even culture in the world. We raise MILLIONS by telethon, call on our MOST famous individuals...actors, actresses, athletes, musicians, and so on to go LIVE on TV, radio, blog, Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and every other type of media there is and send trucks planes and even aircraft carriers FULL OF SUPPLIES to our brothers and sisters that need us. AWESOME, I am so proud to be an American, I really am. I am so proud of this country that I still cry when I hear the national anthem, I PROMISE!!!!!! I fought for this country and we would die for our freedom, today, tomorrow and forever!

But......................when the telethon ends, when the blogs are done, when the tweets subside, and the time passes on as many are being rescued and fed, and we return to work, school and life as Americans again, who do we pass on the way?

We pass the faces and souls of the very people we have abandoned and walked by for FAR TOO LONG! This is so heartbreaking to us here at Surrender40. We know the pain that our own countrymen know. These are OUR brothers, our sisters, our family. If America is a sovereign nation, formed under the protection and guidance of a loving and merciful God, where is the help for OUR PEOPLE. Where are the telethons to eradicate the CRIMES of forgetting our friends and familiy on the streets of America. Where is the love for our people at home, who creis for our homeless, who cries for our needy, WHO CRIES FOR AMERICA?

Now, please DO NOT MISREAD NOR MISUNDERSTAND THIS POST!!!!! Continue to do the good you feel you are doing, the good that God has called upon you to do, and give to the Haitian people as if YOUR very life depended on it, we DO NOT want you to stop, EVER!

What we are asking you to do is to RALLY for your homeland, your family here on the streets of the most powerful nation in the world. WE are asking you to send donations to help FEED THE NEED here at home. Our people are dying here too...EVERY DAY......and EVERY NIGHT! Please help us to eliminate hunger here in our cities. Please help us to not turn our heads on the way to work or school, or to an NBA game that takes place 1 Block from a place where thousands of homeless people live. Even though the year changes and we all experience personal gains and losses in this tough life, we give THANKS that God has allowed us to stand in the gap for the people that America forgets, it's homeless and hungry.

Our 1st Annual Christmas Blanket Drive was a complete success thanks to so many of you and your very generous and loving gifts to our ministry. In total, we handed out 300 blankets, 79 Bibles, 92 pair of socks, as well as coats, jackets and pants that you donated to Surrender40.

Our ministry team had some extra special help today and we would like to acknowledge them and give them our heartfelt thanks for all the work they did. Justin, Cisco and Jan were awesome on their first homeless outreach trip for Surrender40, and we are so grateful to all three of them. God Bless You guys for your hearts and unselfish ways giving up your Christmas for God's people!
